Data Rights and Account Deletion

This page explains how ReceiptTrack users can request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, and deletion of personal data in line with UK GDPR rights.

1. Rights you can exercise

Access

Request a copy of personal data associated with your account and usage context.

Rectification

Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.

Export

Request data export in a portable format where technically available.

Restriction

Ask us to restrict processing in specific scenarios under data protection law.

Objection

Object to processing based on legitimate interests where applicable.

Erasure

Request account and related data deletion, subject to legal retention duties.

2. How to submit a request

Submit requests from your registered account by logging in and opening a Help section ticket with subject line "Data Rights Request".

To protect users, we may ask for verification evidence before actioning requests that affect account access, deletion, or large-scale exports.

3. Request handling timeline

  • Receipt acknowledgement is sent after intake validation.
  • Standard requests are processed within statutory timelines.
  • Complex requests may require extension where law allows, with notice provided.

4. Account deletion and downstream systems

Account deletion requests trigger coordinated removal or anonymisation workflows across platform systems, including profile data, support context, and connected operational records where eligible.

Some records may be retained where required for legal obligations, fraud prevention, dispute handling, tax compliance, or security investigations.

5. Making Tax Digital and tax record constraints

For users of tax workflows, deletion may be limited for records that must be retained for statutory reporting, auditability, reconciliation, or lawful evidence obligations.

Users can request disconnection of supported tax integrations independently from full account deletion.

6. Data portability and exports

Where technically feasible, data can be exported in structured formats suitable for migration, compliance review, or internal accounting handover.

7. Complaints and regulator rights

If you are dissatisfied with how we handle a data rights request, you can escalate to us via the contacts above and may also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
